Less graphics, more things

So, my friend did two things. The first is the iOS version is coming out first, and the graphics are lowered so that he can add more items and objects, it IS a big game after all. He has also informed me that if the iOS gets very popular, he will release for computer.

Island

My friend sent me one of the islands, and the reason I haven't been posting anything is because my friend was going through the extremely tedious task of putting rocks over the world/islands


AS promised, here is the island:

Its so large that you cant even see the player (I hear he is near the large river)

we are adding rocks, it's odd and horrible and never make rocks children!

Unreal Engine downloaded!

As of   7:15 PM tonight, we have officially downloaded Unreal Engine, I am proud to report, it's amazing, and life is good. I'm not a coder, so I don't know the procedure, and how to change from Unity to Unreal, but now the game is going to be even better, and pretty

Unreal Engine

We will be using Unreal Engine, whihc can only be used by a select few i-devices. Do not worry, it's still to be made on computer, and if you have an i-thingy, you probably have a computer, unless if you spent all your money on that i-thingy, in which case, it better be a good one. Release date is, at the least, a week, at the most, a year. Say about 1 month, okay?

Time to get Unreal Engine: About a week, so that would be the absolute earliest time that you can get the game.

Typical Upgrades

Since it is coming out on computers you can expect everything to be upgraded. Right now I am working on making the grass look nicer, and more realistic. The IOS port will of course revert the game back to the way it was in-Dev. For the computer game, the grass will be very realistic, and I am going to see if I can have my friend add in a graphics slider that makes the graphics look even more amazing. Animals more amazing, water more amazing. *Sigh it's a lot of work and we're essentially remaking the game from the ground up. We expect sometime next year for a release date. Sorry you have been kept waiting for so long. If it is a bad game I will give you my address and you can personally come slap me. And, I'll put a video up of me slapping my friend twice as much as you guy's slapped me

We are now making the game on computers (Only Linux, JK) n we shall make a  (not crap) port to IOS. This will make the game amazing, and I will be working on a texture for individual grass blades. It will all work out in the end.

Animaux

Animals will be put in the game soon. If you thought making trees were hard, well just wait until you get a load of animals. What I'm trying to say is that it's very difficult. The release date is still unbeknownst to me even though I've bugged and he replies," Eventually" so, the game will be released, "Eventually". But it is in my personal opinion that the game will be released when we create the title, and the main menu. When I announce those things, you can know, if you've followed us from the beginning and have been anxiously expecting this, you'll know that the game is almost here.

Stuff, Things, more thingz

The name of the game may be changing AGAIN! What I do know, however, is that my friend (website at the bottom of the page) doesn't like the name of the game. If you need me to complain to him, and your racial slurs/insults please send me your complaints via regular mail so I can put them in our fireplace and keep warm this Winter. Map

The map is coming close to completion  it is about 85% done. Soon the map will be finished and we can move on to more pressing matters. Like a title screen, or an inventory. Or a death screen. Or fart jokes, yeah, fart jokes

leaves

Leaves, grass, and trees have been added to the game. It takes longer than you would think to make leaves, grass, and trees.

Water

We've upgraded the water, to be see-through, and we've made everything slightly more realistic. Trees are going to be added soon. The game is back on schedule, although the release date is still unknown, you can expect the game to be better, and better as time goes on. Don't expect the game to be done instantly. But don't expect to be done in 5 years either.

Ill

Sorry about that, I was ill, and nearly hospitalized. It was terrible, I vomited all over the place. But that's over now, simple as that. To update you as to what's happening in the game:


We have added some islands, and some new items (Trees, foliage, that sort of thing)
I was ill, so not much was to be done there. The release date has been changed and rearranged, and I shall get back to you on that, for it has been a hectic few weeks. Communicating is difficult, especially when all you can seem to do is puke.

Legal Issues

Due to Legal issues the game's name may be changed from The Islands to something a little less original or maybe more, who knows?
 

IOS game

There is a new IOS game coming out on the app store, called The Islands, although it is coming along nicely. We believe that it shall be out sometime next month. It is just an Alpha build so far, although it is already a large game. We hope that this shall not impede our work. IT IS in fact an indie, well semi-indie build (2 people, which is pretty indie by today's standards). The game shall be free, although depending upon sales the price may rise to a dollar. Get it while it's hot. It is an island survival game, reminiscent to that of, Sir You Are Being Hunted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQwMIZe5SkQ  except it is more gather resources and build a house, than run away from robots that want to shoot your face into a bazillion, million pieces. The game doesn't have any story, you make up your own. Could it be that you are a surfer who rode a "gnarly wave" and ended up at that island? GLOBAL WARMING?? If you don't believe in Global Warming, then  ANGRY MOTHER NATURE?? Could it be that you are a survivor of humanity after the planet was invaded by a racists alien group of Neo-Nazis with time machines who are also undead space zombies from Uranus? Who just need affection, love and corn syrup? Anyway, make it up, do whatever have fun with it. (P.S. there will be MANY updates, and if you get it when it's free, you get it for life.
